Back in the 70’s and 80’s there would be news stories every couple months about Reverend Moon, the Moonies, and his performing mass marriages of thousands of couples. I can’t remember hearing anything about him or his group in at least 10 years. So, whatever happened to Reverend Moon? Did he become Pope Moon the First? Did he join the Scientologists? And what about all of those couples he married? How are they? Did any of the marriages last more than a few days? ---

Moon owns the Washington Times and is very active in support of the Republican Party. He’s been working on [getting his tentacles](http://dir.salon.com/story/news/feature/2004/06/21/moon/index.html) into the seats of power in DC… ---

I know several Washington Times employees. They all worry that their jobs will disappear when the Reverend dies. There are frequent and furious job cuts there, but AFAIK the Reverend is still breathing. ---

Thanks for the updates. I knew he was a loon but it’s nice to know he hasn’t lost his touch. Does anyone know about the people he married though? Anyone seen any stats about their divorce rate? Personally, I think it’s probably way above average.
