SoCal climate is pretty temperate but it has itā€™s fair share of overcast days and rain. I remember in June the sun wouldnā€™t break through the haze until noon on most days. And of course thereā€™s that protective layer of sun filtering smog.šŸ™‚ I miss it ā˜¹ But the point is, thereā€™s some variation. If I have to be stuck with a constant, I admit that sun is better than snow storms but believe it or not, it can be pretty damned annoying. ---

Well, **Rick Jay** , the fucking sun has its fuckstick heat lasered on Oz at the moment, breaking all mercury records over the last 150 years. Days and days of 40 C (I donā€™t speak Fahrenheit) and even 31 degrees at 2am one morning. Everything and everyone is cooked, steamed and fried and itā€™s a game of hazard and hilarity trying to get into your car thatā€™s been sitting in it all day. So Iā€™ll think of you, you can think of me, and somewhere there might be a cerebral temperature land in which humans can exist. ---

Still no sun, and we are two days away from February. Sunrise was 9 days ago. This makes over 9 weeks since sunset, and as I remember, that was pretty cloudy too, so I think its been about ten weeks since there was any sunlight here. Including the two-month night, of course. ---

Today parts of Sydney were 44C (111F). Some are still above 30C (86F) now and itā€™s almost midnight. Going to be hotter tomorrow too. ---

Weā€™ve asked for permission to put up posters or something but weā€™re told it ā€œwould damage corporate imageā€ (šŸ˜• okā€¦ can we put up company ads? just some which are not close-ups, ok, a bit of distance); Iā€™m thinking of asking to WFH on Fridays (which are halfdays anyway and we donā€™t usually have meetings) as a mental health measure. ---
