# Where the hell are my tragic, bulgy eyed rabbits?

I got hooked on Matt Groening’s work in the very early eighties reading _Life in Hell_ in the _San Diego Reader_ When I moved back to Tucson I was treated to the strip in the _Tucson Weekly_ a full two weeks before it appaeard in the _Village Voice_ along with funk-queen Lynda Barry’s _Ernie Pook’s Comeek_. Now in the desolation of Phoenix the _New Times_ only features Max Cannon’s _Red Meat_ in every issue and Derf’s _The City_ on a somewhat less regular basis. Both excelellent strips BTW, not knocking Bug Eyed Earl or Derf’s jabs at he-boobies. So… where the hell can I get my _Life in Hell?_ Of all those strips it’s the only one I have never been able to find online.

I don’t know if he’s doing it anymore; I haven’t seen an alternative paper in years.

I can only suggest getting the books, if they’re still in print. I still read 'em and they’re still funny and worth having.

I _think_ he ended it about 4-5 years ago. The [Washington City Paper](http://www.washcp.com), where I get my weekly fix of Cecil, used to also carry _Life in Hell_. I miss it, too. ☹

I’ve seen it much more recently than that, but can’t say that it hasn’t ended.

I haven’t seen it in a while, but I think Groening wasn’t paying much attention to it anymore. It had gotten where every week was 16-25 identical panels with a punchline at the end.
