I go to a lot of rock concerts and have recently noticed a ringing in my ears. I don’t want to stop going to shows, but I don’t want to develop a bad case of tinnitus either. Where in Manhattan would I go to get a pair of custom earplugs made? Is there a brand or style I should look for? I don’t know what a high-end pair of earplugs should cost, but being that these are my ears, I’m willing to spend a considerable amount.

I use the roll up foam type, NNR 32. They work fine when I’m shooting at an indoor range so I imagine they would work for a rock concert.

Any audiologist should be able to help. Basically what you’re asking for is a set of earmolds like they’d use to put hearing aid electronics in, but hold the electronics!

I have a set that I use at the pistol range. The audiologist made a set of impressions and the lab made the final product.

This just in! A quick Google search listed [http://www.toddh.net/music/ear/](http://www.toddh.net/music/ear/)

You might want to check out [Hearos](http://www.guitarcenter.com/Hearos-Ultimate-Softness-Ear-Plugs-8-Pack-With-Case-102472990-i1427351.gc).

I use them and like them quite a bit. I already have a bit of tinnitus, it comes and goes, from blasting my guitar for too many years.
