I say hide her somewhere in Russia. They’d never think to look for her there!

would that special location be anywhere near her cousins??!

Her Majesty would be protected against any immediate threat in the underground bunker system in London based at Buckingham Palace (SW1A 1AA) and after immediate clearance transferred to a safer place (say, Scotland) and from there taken to the safest colony.

Bah, I don’t want her making Scotland more of a target, although I’m not all that sure that the attackers whoever they would be, would care much about her really.
Heheheh, I know, does anyone remember a woman, possibly named Jeannette Charles, if memory serves, who made something of a career out of being a queen impersonator? Get lots of similar woman, or get lots of old dears and threaten to withdraw their pensions unless they agreed to have plastic surgery, so when the U.K. is over-run with queen lookalikes, the enemy will be confused. Ha! Wonder at my strategic skillZ! ![]()

Canada doesn’t seem like a great choice. Given its proximity to the US and the fact that the two countries’ domestic defense infrastructure are largely intertwined, I doubt it would fare well in an all-out nuclear conflict.
Australia or New Zealand would probably be a lot safer.

Canada has a force field. If you ask them they’ll deny it.

Incidentally, what happens in the movie “Threads”? Not that fiction proves anything of course. I know Sheffield gets it, but how about London? And is the fate of the Royal Family shown at all?

Can’t remember what happened in its predeccesor The War Game but I was somewhat bemused to see Belfast getting smeared in a few scenarios. I suppose it was a reasonable target given that V-Bombers would have scattered to RAF Aldergrove nearby and we did have a mighty bunker system of our own too :dubious:

Didn’t Sadaam try something like that?

I think it’s understood that London gets it, otherwise the scant survivors in northern England a generation or two down the line wouldn’t have reduced so completely to savagery, anarchy, and speaking a degraded English patois – if only because an intact London would be a sufficient base for recovery to allay the worst of that scenario.
I believe in the Threads scenario London does get it. I think in the film they say in that scenario more nukes land on Britain than anywhere else. 100 Megatons or something like that lands on the UK. In the film there’s a lead up to war so presumably the Queen and all the important types would have been evacuated before London got it.
