Last summer, the California Supreme Court held that the mayor of San Francisco couldn’t issue marriage licences to same-sex couples. I don’t know the name of the case, or how to find it on-line.

Can anyone point me to an on-line site that has the court’s judgment?

Thanks.

Go [here](http://www.courtinfo.ca.gov/cgi-bin/opinions.cgi) and scroll down to Lockyer v San Francisco 8/12/04. It’s PDF format.

Thanks, **Otto.**

I love this place: doing legal research into unknown (to me, at least) US state law at midnight!
