# Where would you guys get Windows 3.1?

Yeah I know, the real question is, “Why the feck do you wanna get Windows 3.1 for anyway, **TD**?” I need it so I can install it on a memory drive with DosBox and run SimCity Classic and Castle of The Winds, 1 and 2. They require good old 16 bit Windows 3.1, and I can’t get the Microsoft Vitural Machine or whatever it is that comes with Windows 7 to work.

I do actually legally own a copy, its on 3 and a quarter though, and I don’t want to get on eBay to get a USB floppy drive just to install this on there, and I am sure the floppies themselves went toast years ago anyway.

So whaddya think?

First choice would be to check with your local geek friends. I’m sure I’ve got 4 or 5 sets of disks around in a closet somewhere.

Or [www.vetusware.com](http://www.vetusware.com) is a solid source of abandonware. I needed a DOS 6.2 disk last year and mine had degraded to the point of failure.

And caveat emptor, Google is your friend.
