# Where'd Satan Go?

We harbor no ill feelings toward Brian and wish him well in finding a new gig, although we think what he should really do is get out of the rock ‘n’ roll rat race and get his degree. And get a haircut, and tuck in his shirt, and don’t you think you could stand to lose a couple pounds, buddy?

I started this thread because I wondered where Brian had gotten off to. My sincere apologies if I opened a can of worms. Please let him know that he is missed, and that I wish him well in finding new employment. I was in a similar situation last year, and I know it’s no fun.

My initial reaction was that it was really low to be kicking a man when he’s down.
Then I got to wondering: is this some kind of play on the song “Get a Haircut and Get a Real Job” (George Thorogood if I recall correctly – and I’m sure somebody will tell me if I don’t).
Me, I’m rooting for Satan, and a bit disgusted with the local “music industry” (which makes Nike sweatshops or Flybynight Used Cars look like a high quality corporate citizen).

I _only_ posted a link to that thread because **scratch1300** (and no doubt a few others) seemed to be under the impression that **Satan** was, indeed, banned. I was trying to **avoid** gossip or speculation by stating what I knew, and nothing more.

Again, I presented what I **did** know, as opposed to speculating about what **might be**. How on earth you see any resemblance to gossipy behaviour here is completely beyond me. Would it be too much to ask to tell me I’m reading this wrong?

Wow, that’s terrible - to be out a job right before Christmas even! ☹ No, wait, not terrible - it sucks goat ass. Yes, that is more appropriate.
And I’m glad to hear that that is the only reason he has left us. And Drain’s post sure explains an awful lot about what went on here.
Also, a lot of people were talking about a deliberate “shunning” of SD people going on; I’m certain many will be glad that is not happening at all.

Well, scratch said he thought Brian MIGHT have been banned, but checked and made sure. After that, no additional input is really necessary.
It was the “those are the facts” line that got to me. As if it was cut and dried from that point onward. Would it have been too much for you to ask?

Of course I do. You don’t have to worry about that–and I’m sorry to have jumped on your response when Diane’s was probably more appropriate to be jumped upon–yours just happened to be first, and the one that Diane referred to when she decided to be snide and catty. Opened the floodgates, so to speak, although I’m sure that wasn’t your intent. Goodness knows that _anything_ can fuel the gossip mill around here.

**Satan** is temporarily absent from the SDMB. Can life get any worst?
As to Satan being laid off, that is the most stupid management decision since the Red Sox sent Babe Ruth packing to New York.
Remember Fred Lynch? He is the moron who cut Michael Jordan from Laney High’s varsity basketball squad. What’s up with him now, you might ask? Well, he works at one of MJ’s basketball camps. Isn’t life full of funny twists? He, he.
I foresee a similar scenario happening here, with **Satan** fulfilling the biblical prophecies and rising to world domination while his exboss…Wait, I am confusing **Satan** with the antichrist. :rolleyes: Anyhow. Got get ’em **Satan**. 🙂
Seriously, good luck finding a new job Brian. Hopefully this will turn out for the best and you will end up which a much better job than the one you just left. And as soon as you do, get your satanic ass back here at the SDMB. We really miss your witty, laugh-attack-inducing posts.

Coldie - FWIIW, I wasn’t being caustic or snide, but merely making the suggestion that Brian stormed off the SDMB after the things that transpired in his last thread. It sure appeared that way considering his disappearance came right after his blow-up.
Although a little sarcastic, my comment wasn’t meant to be catty or snide, but knowing the thin skins of certain people, I should have known to pulled the punch just a little bit. My apologies.
Then again, it’s been awhile since I have been spanked by a mod. I think I’m due.
