(I’m not sure if this is the right place for this question, but since he’s a member of the SDSAB–I think—and this seemed at least as good a place as any, here goes.) Does anyone know what’s up with **Q.E.D.**? I’ve always enjoyed his posts as among the most accurate and interesting on the board, but he hasn’t posted in more than two months. Is he okay? Just taking a break? Decided he has better things to do than fight our ignorance? Given up on us? I miss him. ---

I’ve been wondering the same thing. He could usually be counted on to post in GQ several times a day. I assumed that he just didn’t renew his membership for whatever reason. If that’s the case, his insights will be missed. ---

I e-mailed him a week or so ago. He says, “Hey.” FTR, he no longer has SDSAB under his name. It says Charter Member. I didn’t ask him what or why, just said Hey myself. Sometimes people just get a little burnt out on certain favorite things. Maybe that’s what’s going on with him and the Dope. ---

Actually, it comes from “complementary,” meaning free of charge, as opposed to “complimentary,” which refers to praising. ---
