Just in case you’re wondering, _free checks are cool!!_ My credit union will provide free checks for members over 50. I’m over 50. Earlier this week, I ordered my free checks. They came in the mail today. It is decidedly cool getting free stuff. My sweetie is well into FL now. He stopped at the place where he worked for many years and had a chat with some former coworkers. He told the guys about his new job at NASA. He was back on the road and about half an hour gone when one guy called and accused him of playing an April Fools gag. This is especially funny when you know the accuser, but I can’t possibly explain why. Anyway, when this guy gets an email from [nasa.gov](http://nasa.gov), maybe he’ll believe. I’m still giggling about it, which shows how boring my evening is. I’m home alone with the critters! Too bad no one has my phone number… **sigh** ---

I read the MMP every week and today I renewed my charter memberships status purely on the basis that at $0.143846 per MMP for the year was a gen-u-wine bargain. I love you all. ---

Well, I’m glad you lik it, **ems** , but you do realise that if you’re not participating then you will never be sent the complimentary MMP twenty-pound dark chocolate bar, and extra free cool hat. And chandelier. I’m still waiting for mine. You have to post _lots_ to get it. Driving Husband is going to take me over to my parents’ place in the next hour or so. This plus the Pope (being in the process of) dying has really darkened my weekend. Mr. Lissar has forbidden me to call him at work for the rest of the day, because every time I call it’s because something bad is happening. I should phone him and tell him that the cats have been stolen by aliens. Thanks for all the good wishes. I love you guys. Even without chocolate. ---

I’m so sorry about the pup. Our pets always are family, aren’t they? I don’t care what anyone says, there is a special place in heaven for our pets. **Swampy,** I have a gargantuan bathtub…there’s definitely room for more than one…and that’s all _I’m sayin’_ about it. The weather is most definitely nasty, rain, hail, wind, you name it, we got it. I hope the mountain passes don’t get too screwed up. My daughter is supposed to return tonight from Central Washington University where she was participating in a band competition. We are going to Olive Garden for dinner tonight. Our friends want to go there and we chose the restaurant last time. Have a good weekend all, and **Rue,** ease back the throttle on the brains. You wouldn’t want to end up with Mad Cow Disease, or something like that, would you? ---

Driving Husband and I have visited Gabe (the dog). He’s making horrible coughing noises, but my parents are with him around the clock, and he seems pretty content with the attention. Mr. Lissar is going to try to swing by tomorrow before work, which will be difficult. He’ll get home at about 2 a.m. and leave for his twelve-hour at ten or so. Thanks again, everyone. It’s one of those terrible, unpredictable illnesses. Aerin is licking a plastic bag to show sympathy. I think. Why does she lick plastic bags? Are there normal cats? Do they exist? ---

**FCM** you know how sometimes a student will bring an apple to the teacher for suck up purposes? Well, you could bring your pottery teacher a chandelier. That’s way cooler than an apple. What teacher wouldn’t love you forever for that? You could say, “Look teach! I brung ya a chandelier!” Never hurts to work on a way for a few extra credit points is all I’m sayin’. ---

Interesting idea, **swampy** , but I’m thinking, um, no. Especially since the beast is quite heavy, and I don’t intend to haul it up from the basement and drive 90 minutes with it clinking and tinkling in the van. Besides, I’m _me_ - enough of an honor for _any_ teacher! 😃 ---
