So, which actor or actress would be the most likely to do a hardcore scene in a mainstream or indie film (a la Chloe Sevigny in “Brown Bunny”) if she felt the “artistic purpose” of the film was being served, or if she felt her career was flagging and this would give it a shot, or if she just thought it would be a hoot. (Or “he” if you like.) I’m thinking Meg Ryan myself. She’s already shown she’ll do softcore for “In the Cut.” I don’t think it did much for her career. So maybe the Next Logical Step might be considered. The key point here is not who would you LIKE to see in a hardcore scene in a mainstream/indie (i.e., not porn) film, but who do you think most LIKELY to do the nasty for real in front of the camera? ---

Well, there were those two in “Nine Songs” who went hardcore with an “artistic purpose;” I think it was her first screen credit so she might not count, but the guy had acted in some stuff before. I bet a _lot_ of actors/acresses would do it if they thought it would actually improve their careers/reputation. If they made “Last Tango in Paris” today it might be hardcore. Julianne Moore and Heather Graham come to mind as two who might do it. ---

I could see Ewan MacGregor or Colin Farrell both willing among the guys. Both are comfortable with frontal nudity and artistic films. For women, Madonna seems to have a case of the respectables since motherhood or I could see that. I’ll go with Carol Channing. ---
