It occurred to me while watching “The Island of Dr. Moreau” with Michael York than I have never liked him in anything. I’m sure he’s a perfectly nice guy, it’s just something about the way he acts that rubs me the wrong way. Who do you dislike strictly for their acting? ---

I think James Franco is a fine actor, but “rubs me the wrong way” is a perfect way of describing him. ---

Sean Penn. I despised his character in _Fast Times at Ridgemont High_. I watched _We’re No Angels_ for deNiro, not for Penn. I found Penn’s character annoying. I remember liking _Carlito’s Way_, but did not even remember that Penn was in it. I would like to say that I am boycotting him for his lefty politics, but the truth is, he rarely makes movies that interest me. ---

There are quite a few others whose names I can’t quite recall at the moment, who are competent actors and who have played a wide variety of characters – most of whom are loathsome – but two that stand out in the “give me the creeps” category are [Zach Grenier](http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0340260/?ref_=ttfc_fc_cl_t10) and [Zeljko Ivanek.](http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0411964/?ref_=nv_sr_1) ---

Catherine Zeta-Jones. Can’t explain it…is it her voice? Her manner? Her eyes? I don’t know. But something about her is like nails on a chalkboard to me. ---

I would say Kristen Stewart, but that would be like shooting fish in a barrel. It’s appropriate that in her next movie, she plays a stoner. ---

Ashton Kutcher. I pretty much dislike every character he’s played. With one exception: I really enjoyed _No Strings Attached_ and I liked his character in that movie. ---

John Travolta. His worst performance IMO was as a General in A Thin Red Line. Utterly wrong and unbelievable in the part. Have to admit that I liked him in Blow Up though. ---

I’m sure I’ll catch hell for this, but I can’t stand Bill Murray. Hated him on SNL, hated him in just about everything I’ve seen him in. I might like him in _The Razor’s Edge_, from what I’ve heard. I did like him in _Groundhog Day_, possibly because in that film, at least at the start, he’s _supposed_ to be an annoying character. But, nope, didn’t care for him in the _Ghostbusters_ movies, or _Caddyshack_, or _Stripes_, or even _Lost in Translation_. I could’ve done without his segment in _Zombieland_. ---

Christian Slater and John Cusack. Never saw either of them in a movie I liked. Their presence in a movie has been enough to make me skip it for decades now. I think I dislike Slater more, as even a still photograph makes me want to punch him in the taint until he bleeds from the ears. ---
