Note: I stole the idea from [**Stuckey** (aka **MC Copie One** )](http://copyone.blogspot.com), who stole it from [**Spoz**](http://spoz.blogspot.com). But it’s still a pretty good idea, even if others have done it before me. 😉 Which five CDs are in your “Top 5” list to be played around the house / at work / while out and about? You can list reasons why, if you like. For me, they would be: 1. Matthew Good Band’s _The Audio of Being_ (I like MGB’s music, and I’m listening to this one right now 🙂 ) 2. New Order’s _The Best of New Order_ (I like the most well-known songs of this band… they’re always good for a spin or two in my PC) 3. the Clash’s _Clash on Broadway_ 3-CD box set (their music was good, and has been an influence on so many musicians and people in general) 4. Collective Soul’s eponymous (self-titled) album () 5. Radiohead’s _OK Computer_ (the music’s good for when I’m feeling less than 100% emotionally… what can I say?) Just for the record, this is **Stuckey** ’s list: > [@](#): > > CDs On High Rotation … > > Top 5 > > Roni Size - Touching Down > Spoz - Live at Barron Townhouse > Eminem - Infinite > Gerling - When terrorists chase the sun - { I think that’s right - Can’t remember} > Rakim - The 18th Letter Here is **Spoz** ’s, as well: > [@](#): > > CD’s currently in my top 5 heavy rotation list… > > Gerling - Bad Blood!!! > Underworld - One Hundred Days Off > Animatrix - The Album > DJ Krush - The Self Megamix > Aphex Twin - Richard D James Album > > been in a bit of a eclectic electronica mood of late… > can’t get enough of the stuff… > > I’d recommend ANY of these albums as some damn good listenin’… > it’s rare to find one… > a real “album,” from beginning to end… > a real journey in sound / mind / spirit… > those suckers are timeless… > once you find one… you hang onto 'em… > and bleed 'em dry… 😉 So tell us what YOUR top 5 favorite CDs are! (and why, if you wish) F\_X ---

Forgot to put in a reason for Collective Soul… hit “submit” too fast. :smack: The reason for that one: I like the music because it reminds me of my friend Eric… and the songs are pretty cool too. F\_X ---

**Five albums in heavy rotation right now:** My Bloody Valentine - Loveless The Jesus & The Mary Chain - Psychocandy The Replacements - Tim Big Black - Songs About Fucking Built To Spill - Perfect From Now On And the new Guided By Voices album: Earthquake Glue, which I would recommend to every GBV fan who has become jaded by their input over the last few years. Let’s see - deeply influenced by my 3-year-old daughter, who has a definite opinion about music: **Rooney** - Rooney - great power pop with a Beatles edge; my daughter loves the first two songs **White Stripes** - Elephant - overall great album _I Want to Be the Boy to Warm Your Mother’s Heart_ has an amazing slide break, and _Seven Nation Army_ is wonderful - my daughter sang it ("Seven Nation Army!!! Seven Nation Army!!) while waiting for her 3-year checkup. **Fountains of Wayne** - Welcome Interstate Managers - have ya heard this? Could it be a more perfect power-pop collection, where each lyric is a great short story? **Smashing Pumpkins** - Greatest Hits - been needing a major injection of _Cherub Rock_ lately… **Red Garland** - Live at the Prelude, Vol. 1 - amazing jazz piano player - played a lot with Miles Davis leading up to Kind of Blue - this is a live 3-piece combo. The drummer is beyond amazing and Garland has some wonderful, shimmering chords. My jazz holdout when the kids are napping in the car… Good stuff! ---
