How did that come out like that? Tracer said that uberchicken thing.
So does this mean that God can create a Chicken, but God can’t hatch an egg???
I have a question for us to debate - why does Xan feel the need to start five different threads (well, six, but two had the same topic) in a matter of 24 hours?
Cause there’s a lot a I want to know
As for evolution vs creationism I think didn’t think it was an issue when I posted this.
The egg came first. Why? Simply because an egg is defined by the creature it contains.
For example we all come from eggs in one way or another.
A mule comes from a horse and a donkey. The horse (or donkey or which ever it is) gives birth to a mule without ever being one.
Because the horse is carring a mule egg NOT a horse egg, otherwise her baby would be a horse.
Thus carry this back a few million years and a chicken was born from a chicken egg carried by another type of creature. (see horse/mule example above)
Everyone framesthe question in terms of which came first. Why? Who cares? More interesting, and perhaps more answerable, is who came after. In other words, which is serving the purpose as defined by which. Someone wrote that a chicken is the way that an egg produces more eggs. (Anyone know who?) What it means is that the egg contains the bluprint of the species which must get propegated over time. It cannot do this as it is basically totally inactive. So it produces an organism that can do this. So this Egg came first, or, more siginficantly, the chicken came after, at the calling of the egg.
I liked this idea so much I put it in my footer.
I say the rooster came first.
Which came first? Fried chicken or fried eggs? Egg salad or chicken salad? Chicken soup or egg drop soup? Salivating mouths want to know!
yup…the rooster came and then came the egg…d and r…seriously birds and dynosaurs had eggs long before the chicken evolved out of the Jungle Fowl…so that is easy…now at least you didn’t ask the gry question…

C’mon. The real question here is “which came first - the ribozyme or the mycell?”
Gosh, I was just thinking we needed more evolution centered debates around here. I mean, we never get them. Why doesn’t anyone ever consider arguing about this?
Egg, for all of the reasons elucidated in previous posts. I always thought that was a silly question.

Heh, no. My real-life first name and last name are the same as the two-word response Fred says every time Super Chicken declared, “To the Super Coop, Fred!”
“I ate the chicken, and then I ate it’s leg.”
