Beer should never last long enough to get warm.

The one on the left isn’t beer. Let it soak up the rays.

> As a licensed beer-snob from Oregon, I can state that the beer on the left, tall and narrow, should be drank first, the less you taste it the better. The one on the right, short and squat, should be allowed to warm a little, best drank at around 45º - 55ºF. That depends on the quality of the IPA. It’s brewed in Vermont so and I’m not sure they know how. Perhaps **running coach** has the right of it drinking that dog first and dumping the Butt-Wipe for the fishes.

> The only beer that’s helped by lime is Corona; hell, motor oil would help the taste of Corona …

I disagree. Given that we all agree that the Bud Light Lime is repugnant, one must consume the good beer first. With enough of those, the swill becomes less offensive.

This assumes a limited supply where all beer must eventually be consumed, although I suspect that the beer on the right will be superior to the Bud Light [anything] even after kidney processing.

I definitely see your point, but we still want to be consuming the better beer at a bit balmier temperature. It’s a fair bet the bitter beer will be beyond consumption before long.

IPA is hardly a “heavy” brew, but if you’ve downed a couple stouts … last thing you want to drink is some God awful American lager at room temperature.

Lagers, and especially pilsners, can be quite good. They don’t get the respect they deserve among beer snobs (and I consider myself one). So I only want to take issue with the idea that “American Lagers” are inherently bad. The legacy brands are.

And while I like IPAs just fine, I am a growing a little tired of their domination.

Personally, what I drink is quite temperature dependent. Hot summer days and I loves me a pilsner. Ales in the fall, and darker ales and stouts in the winter. Wheat beers all year round, for some reason.

Bud Light Lime-r-rita/straw-brr-rita or whatever the hell tastes like dissolved tooth enamel and should never ever be consumed.

Not sure how this really relates to the topic, but I just had to say it because I can’t stop thinking about that one horrorible day when I still thought “all beer must eventually be consumed” was still a worthwhile statement…

Man, all the BudLightLime hate! My gf brought a few along. She had a bottle of Pinot Grigio, but wanted something she could quaff for quick thirst relief (bottled water never crossed her mind).

Speaking of Bud Light Lime, did Arrogant Bastard ever take that girl fishing after the craft beer party?

I know…a hot day on a boat and an ice cold Blime can do the trick! Save the good stuff for later in the day. 😃

Just drink a lemonade, preferably with vodka in it. Or if you must, a normal bud light (which is still the most terrible beer at any price). Beer should not have fruit in it. Beer should not taste like fruit. Fruit makes all beers worse.

To keep this sorta on topic, You can whip up a good batch of vodka lemonade that will stay cold for hours in a good thermos.

I didn’t say I’ve ever bought it. But I have been on a boat and been offered one, accepted and enjoyed. And I’m more a Coors guy when it comes to yellow beer. I think they are making the flavored beers too although i haven’t yet had one. Maybe I should pick some up and have Blime vs Clime showdown. 😛

I don’t have the words to keep this in GD to properly express myself in regards to this.

I’ll make sure to add you to the showdown invite list! 😃

After that showdown, we’ll cover beers flavored with orange and maybe we’ll get to coriander after that. Maybe we can get that Arrogant Bastard guy to be the official.

Ever tried a Fruli?

> **[Fruli](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fruli)**

> Fruli, Früli, or Van Diest Fruli is a strawberry-favoured Belgian fruit beer, made at a craft brewery near Ghent by Brouwerij Huyghe. It is produced by blending Belgian wheat beer (70%) and pure strawberries (30%), and has 4.1% alcohol by volume.
> Früli won the gold medal at the UK's Food & Drink Expo in 2004. In 2009, it was announced as the "Worlds Best Fruit Beer" by the judges of the World Beer Awards.

My favorite dessert beer. Strawberry goodness, goes well with French vanilla icecream.

I used to be open minded about the idea of fruit in beer. However, after many disappointments including lemon, lime, orange, grapefruit, cranberry, blackberry, and pumpkin, I have now come around to your way of thinking. It would be one thing if we were just making a philosophical stand, but I’ve been there, done that and it sucks.

Lambic lovers, unite! Fruit can be lovely in beer.

No beer made in America, but still…
