Which car dealer gave my info to this scam organization?

I get these calls on my cell phone and I don’t own a car. What can I do to make them stop calling me or report them? I’m on the Do Not Call list. I have a very nice plan so I don’t mind spending time to fuck with them if it will make them lose money.

Seeing as Minnesota now includes coupons for oil changes and new tires, in the envelope with your license plate renewal notice, I’ve assumed that these are triggered by my registering a new (to me) car.

Kind of like moving to a new house and suddenly everyone has your address and name and is mailing you coupons and invites to go to their church. We’ve gotten probably 10 of these in the last month. When did churches become direct mail vendors?

2,000 years ago or so.

Listen closely to those Epistles some Sunday. They are all something like:
excerpt from St. Pauls’ letter to the Thessalonians.

What difference would that make?
Speakings as a former dealership employee either those products are installed in house, or the car is shipped out to the vendor with no customer info attached (the bill reads XYZ Volvo, not Cluricaun)

This is a well-known telemarketing scam; see a news report here, for example. Ironically, I’ve received two of these calls on my office phone in the last two days. The extra joy is that the perps have managed to spoof the telephone numbers that show up on my Caller ID. Recently they’ve been using the number of some unlucky resident of Vermont; I Googled the telephone number and found reams of complaints about scam calls spoofing from the same number.

It’s possible to file a complaint with the FCC here. These calls and mailings are not from a legitimate business. They are violating all manner of FCC and FTC rules.

Remember I said no call for a week, while that’s because it was being mailed. I’m saving it this time so i can give the organization’s name and address when they start calling again. I had to do that on a Direct TV telemarketer that was calling, and would hang up, if you weren’t ordering. They of course kept calling. Unfortunately for them they mailed stuff so I could turn them in.
