Ah, I’ve never been fortunate enough to visit an In-N-Out Burger, but I’ve heard their service is great. Chick-fil-A does the vast majority of its business via drive-thru, and they are consistently rated the best in the country for their service in that category. It’s almost unreal how quickly their lines move.
While I agree 100% with your statement, I am betting that the poster who you addressed it to is not going to listen to any logic or reason on this particular subject—Risha seems pretty entrenched on the matter…
You must be a fan of this group.
Walmart because they hate America.
Redwing boots because they represented the “Made In USA” and I paid big bucks because of that. Now they sell Redwing branded boots that are made in China.
I’ll have to watch out for that. I love my Red Wings. Well, not boots, but shoes.
A+. I support their cause fully.
I just find that usually, boycotting hurts me way more than it hurts the company. Like today, I want to boycott my “MediQuick,” a doctor’s office where you can get in and out in less than 15 minutes, as long as you don’t have anything too serious (for which they’ll send you to the hospital across the block.) It’s a piddly thing, but they led to me, and I really feel that, by doing business there, I’m condoning their lying. But I’m sick (again) and I need to get well. And they’re the only place open tomorrow besides the hospital which has real emergencies to attend to.
I don’t boycott any companies, for any reason. I don’t buy products or services from many companies, though, I’m fairly poor.
Ben & Jerry’s Ice Cream. The founders are leftists.
Don’t worry I’ll buy an extra pint just for you.
Many Redwings are still made in America which is more than can be said for other manufacturers. I always figured I was paying big bucks for Redwings because they are top quality boots. I’m confident mine are still made in America as I require a custom lift and it takes less then a week to get them to me.
Yeah, and Dr. Martens shoes sold in America are no longer made in England, also Vans shoes are no longer made in the USA.
The outsourcing doesn’t bother me. What bothers me is China getting almost all of the outsourced manufacturing. All of these companies and only one China.
I use paper money several times a week. I know that when I use a debit card, the shop or restaurant gets charged a small fee, so I try to use paper money in some places. The black marks aren’t going to get the bill taken out of circulation any faster. If I ran the bills through the washer and dryer, THAT would increase the amount of wear and tear on them, but marks don’t make the bills any less suitable for use.
My buddy’s and I have discussed this, and we agreed that the small businesses most likely to try to cheat you are the ones with some sort of Christian message on their signs or advertising.
I often buy from Sierra Trading Post and they mention on their website and their catalogs that they are Christian and try to follow the teachings of Christ. In my experience, they have some of the best customer service I’ve encountered and they have earned my business. This is spoken as a Jewish atheist.
We do it because in my opinion they are using their religion to make a statement about their quality. “Oh I’m a christian so I’m a good and honest person! Trust me to give you a good estimate or deal with you fairly.” This just rubs me the wrong way. I also don’t like being preached to or receiving bible quotes on my bills. Lastly, many of them donate to evangelical causes, or far right causes that I don’t support.
 Yeah I’m showing them alright.
Look, I don’t care if someone displays their religion in their establishment, but I do mind if it’s plastered all over their ads, signs, or work trucks. I don’t think that religion in general is a net force for the advancement of society, and won’t support or encourage it.
A local pet store because they sell puppies. Most puppies sold in pet stores come from puppy mills and I am against them. Even if they don’t come from a classic puppy mill, I feel that breeders who don’t have buyers for their puppies before the dogs are even bred are irresponsible. So I drive 25 miles out of my way to buy my pet food and pet products from a store that doesn’t sell animals.
Apple. Don’t like the company, their hype, their misrepresentations about what their boxes can and can’t do, their ads or their fans and the Kool Aid they drink.
British Airways. I have yet to find an organisation more determined to deliver a bad customer experience.
That stretch of Western Blvd is kind of scary anyway.
I boycott Mercedes Benz because I can’t afford them.
