If you could be any country’s flag, which would you be? If I had to be a flag, I would be that of [Iceland](http://www.cia.gov/cia/publications/factbook/flags/ic-flag.html), [Finland](http://www.cia.gov/cia/publications/factbook/flags/fi-flag.html), [Denmark](http://www.cia.gov/cia/publications/factbook/flags/da-flag.html), [the Faroe Islands](http://www.cia.gov/cia/publications/factbook/flags/fo-flag.html), [Estonia](http://www.cia.gov/cia/publications/factbook/flags/en-flag.html), [Nepal](http://www.cia.gov/cia/publications/factbook/flags/np-flag.html), [South Korea](http://www.cia.gov/cia/publications/factbook/flags/ks-flag.html), or [Laos](http://www.cia.gov/cia/publications/factbook/flags/la-flag.html). [The Marshall Islands](http://www.cia.gov/cia/publications/factbook/flags/rm-flag.html) and [the Seychelles](http://www.cia.gov/cia/publications/factbook/flags/se-flag.html) are both pretty cool in a Captain Planet sort of way, though. ---

Maybe [Sierra Leone](http://www.cia.gov/cia/publications/factbook/flags/sl-flag.html). A nice arrangement of soothing, tastefully chosen colors. I think I have a shirt with this pattern. Or [Iran](http://www.cia.gov/cia/publications/factbook/flags/ir-flag.html). Standard horizontal stripes with a bit of flair. ---

Dang. Libya was my first thought as well. Since Libya is taken, I’ll take [Isle of Man](http://www.cia.gov/cia/publications/factbook/flags/im-flag.html). So weird it’s almost disturbing, yet somehow also kind of majestic. ---

Not technically a country, but Wales. I also loved Rwanda’s old flag with the big black R in the middle, but they’ve changed it to something that looks slightly less like a page from a first-grade textbook. So much their loss…now I don’t want to be the Rwandan flag any more. ---
