SEC is guaranteed another loss and will most likely lose a 3rd. Big 12 only has 2 remaining games, so even if they split them, they will be 6-2 for an equal percentage as MAC with more wins. MAC could take it if Northern Illinois beats Arkansas State.

For as bad a reputation as the Big East has, the teams seem to do well in the bowl season (19-7 since 2006). With that, they have one loss this year (Louisville) and two wins (Cincinnati and Rutgers), That leaves WVU vs. Clemson in the Orange Bowl and Pitt vs. SMU in the Who the Fuck Cares Bowl.

Pitt can easily win their game and, while it would be an upset, it’s not out of the realm of possibility for WVU to beat Clemson.

Good catch! I had held off doing the dirty work of building an accurate tally of where things stood after the Auburn game and just assumed that since their total for the games was right that the other stuff would be too. But the “number of games left” is off for at least the Big XII. Your analysis is solid!

I wish I could help there, but I can’t. I almost decided not to include the ones whose time has passed, but figured others would see that they were hopeless. Sorry!

I’m with you on renaming that Pitt-SMU bowl’s name! Truth in advertising?

And it would be nice to prevent Clemson from going into next year with The Belt! 🙂

Well the next 12 hours should show us what the Big 10 really has, after a confusing mess of a year.

So true! With all the observations about being “up” and “down” floating around it will be at least exciting (one must hope) to see how Reality rears its ugly head. Today’s fare is the one I had expected to be in on from 11 (Central) until whenever. Just let it be some football to rival that amazing Alamo Bowl.

And so far the Big Ten is taking it’s customary New years day(ish) crap in the middle of the field. 😉

Really strange to have three matchups between the SEC and B1G.

All at the same time! :smack: Who is responsible for that? :smack: all on the ABC/ESPN family :smack:

Georgia vs Michigan St - - -ABC
South Carolina vs Nebraska - - - ESPN
Florida vs Ohio St - - - ESPN2

For those who have delayed voting thus far, the situation after the Fiesta Bowl looks like this:

```auto
Jan/3/2012 After Fiesta Bowl:
Conference Bowl Records
Conference Bowl Teams Record % Bowls Remaining Best W-L Best %
Big 12 8 6-1 0.857 Cotton 7-1 .875
Conference USA 5 3-1 0.750 Compass 4-1 .800
MAC 5 3-1 0.750 GoDaddy 4-1 .800
SEC 9 4-2 0.667 Cotton BCS 6-3 .667
Big East 5 2-1 0.667 Compass Orange 4-1 .800
Independents 2 1-1 0.500 1-1 .500
Sun Belt 3 1-1 0.500 GoDaddy 2-1 .667
Mountain West 5 2-3 0.400 2-3 .400
ACC 8 2-4 0.333 Sugar Orange 4-4 .500
Big Ten 10 3-6 0.333 Sugar 4-6 .400
Pac-12 7 2-5 0.286 2-5 .286
WAC 3 0-3 0.000 0-3 .000
```

The “Best W-L” is not an actual figure but a “best possible” for that conference.

It’s annoying, but it’s the new normal. ESPN has the broadcast rights sewn up for nearly all the bowls.

I’m not absolutely sure, but I think most of the games shown on other networks are castoffs from ESPN.

Well I’m glad to see Michigan ahead with 3 minutes to go. But this is a sad, sad game. Blues ineptness on offense, and shitty tackling have been matched by Constant Va Tech special teams fuck ups.

And an assist from the Refs in OT(I thought he caught it) and Michigan has a decent look again.
