I’ll say 'what did Bill Murray’s character whisper to Scarlett Johannson’s in _Lost in Translation_, because the auteur (Sofia Coppola) probably really did have something other than a joke-on-the-audience in mind. (Which is why I won’t say 'what was in the briefcase in _Pulp Fiction’_ because it would certainly have been a joke of some kind.) ---

If [Victor von Doom](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Doctor_Doom) was expelled for his college experimentation, why does he call himself Doctor Doom? If [Reed Richards](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mister_Fantastic) wasn’t expelled and presumably received his Ph.D, why does he call himself Mister Fantastic? ---

Who assaulted Ronette Pulaski? Yes, I know it was Killer Bob, but who did he possess when he did it? He possessed [SPOILER ALERT] Leland Palmer when he killed Laura Palmer, but is that who he possessed when he assaulted Ronette Pulaski, or was it someone else.
