# Which forum can I put this?

I would like to start a thread about the British monarchy in Australia, to discuss what people (Austrailans might be the main ones interested)think about the Australian flag (Union Jack), and Australia’s status in relation to Britain generally. This board is much more \* intense \* about correct forums etc than I’m used to, so I’m trying to do the right thing. Thanks.

I’m not a mod, so this isn’t official, but IMHO sounds like the forum for this. The mods tend to move threads without much fuss if they’re in the wrong place anyway.

I don’t moderate that forum but I agree that sounds like an IMHO thread. And if the IMHO mods disagree it’s not a big deal - they’ll just move it, probably to Great Debates.

We’re not really that “intense” about proper forum placement, we just have lots of posts and lots of readers, and we think that your thread will get more attention if it’s in the right spot. It’s not a big deal if it’s in the wrong forum, it’s just that it won’t get the attention it deserves. We have lots of people who read only this forum or that forum, for instance, so might not see it.
