What trailer? Electronic Arts has not announced plans for a sequel, and they just released another expansion pack for _The Sims 4_ in June. One very impressive “[trailer](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xDgQLTAxpnk)” I found is actually [fan-made](https://www.youtube.com/c/GingerPichu/about). ~Max ---

Facebook needs to do something about those fans, then. I’ve only seen “Official Trailers” on there until now and they have no disclaimers about not being associated with EA. 😡 ---

The straight dope is a let down: > “As Maxis continues to think about The Sims for a new generation across platforms and a cloud-enabled world, you should imagine that while we will always stay true to our inspiration, escape, creation, self-improvement motivation, that this notion of social interaction and competition – like the kind of things that were actually present in The Sims Online many years ago – will start to become part of the ongoing The Sims experience in the years to come.” The words “new generation” refer to people and social trends in the video game industry, not video games themselves. And offering new features “in the years to come” does not constitute an announcement for a sequel. I mean, there will probably be one eventually, but _this_ isn’t the proof you’re looking for. ~Max ---

Some of my favorites: Forza Horizon 3, a beautiful virtual Australia complete with day/night cycle and weather. Far Cry 5, a highly detailed fictional Montana county. Battlefield 1, captures the beauty and horror of WW1 Europe. Kingdom Come Deliverance, a realistic RPG set in a real-life slice of Bohemia. The map and characters are true-to-life. Grand Theft Auto 5, the aesthetic of this game is still great all these years later. ---
