Watchmen. The TPB is like a movie.
I would go with V. I enjoy Preacher, and I’ve got all the parts, but that’s just it…it continues through 9 TPB’s. And there are a couple in there that really, really suck. The whole Grail thing annoyed the crap out of me.
Captain Marvel’s not bad either.
All right, for the last book, it’s pretty much settled down to:
Preacher, Volume 1 - sounds like a lot of fun, but I don’t know if I want to get invested in a large series.
Top 10, Volume 1- sounds like a lot of fun, but I don’t know if I want to buy a third book by Alan Moore in a four-book order, not that Alan Moore isn’t great - I just want variety.
Of those two, I’d pick Top Ten. Preacher is good, but I think one could re-read the Top Ten several times and still spot new little things in the margins.
