I agree that the Jeff Koons sculptures need to keep their shine. And, yes, I was thinking sculptures rather than strictly statues.
With pieces like The Discus Thrower, are people thinking of covering them completely, or just covering their hair?
I did a quick search, and the images that came up were all Greek or Roman style statues. I don’t think those would work.
Smapti - just no. It made me smile, but no.
I would not mess with the mouse.
The Venus of Willendorf and * The Easter Island Moai would work perfectly. The Alchemist at MIT could be interesting.
Mount Rushmore seems kind of big, as does the Lincoln Monument.
Oooo. That makes me think of Stonehenge. Which would also be too big, but might be cool.
So many great ideas. Do the chia people sell refresher kits?

That’s not half as wrong as the Cthulhu plush toys.
Oh, I love the idea of a Chia Cthulu kit.
The hair, and the discus.
For Liberty, just the hair. Like this
That looks good. Just doing the hair seems to work better with busts, rather than full length statues.

With the nude sculptures, I would be strongly tempted to try to cover the armpits and 'nads, just to troll my houseguests.
Nice.
A bust of Beethoven could work. That intense frown next to all that chia.

When reading the original post, the naughty, giggly portion of my brain was thinking of pubes for ol’ Dave.
Do take care when manscaping, though!

I would never tell a chia artist not to chia pubes.
That would be Ceres, the Roman goddess of grain/farming/agriculture

Or Sylvanus , god of forests and “uncultivated lands”. Often depicted with bushy hair and beard, and a crown of pine boughs, all of which would make a good base for a chia crop.
In a similar vein, there’s the green man .
I really thought you meant this green man
Oh, that would work really well!
