Injustice collectors are fairly tedious. However, in all fairness some do have amazing collections going back decades tabulated, cross-referenced, and preserved in the most intimate detail. Listening to some descriptions it’s almost like the injustice was there right in front of you. ---

I play WoW, played DnD for ages, have leafed through the W40K manuals in order to be able to ahem and ahum at the right places when Da Bros start going on about it… but really, I think the problem isn’t in the specific hobby. I’ve had WoW guildies who could bore me shitless by, for example, recounting a dungeon run that I was in as well thank you much! The problem is people who - can’t recognize a glazed look when they see one, - insist in telling you something after you’ve pointed out that you were there or that it’s the third time they tell you (“oh, but you were further up, bet you didn’t see it when Mary healed the tank just in time”… ehr… I was the tank, I did notice…; alternatively “I’m not telling you so you know, I’m telling you cos I need to tell someone”) - will not take “I’m not interested in InsertTopicHere” I mean, in theory people who like to go out with friends are “normal”, but my mother recounts in excruciating detail every conversation with her friends. Several times. Guess it helps explain why she produced three nerds. To the person who mentioned Trainspotting: in Spain we discovered that in the movie. There is an activity of “going to watch the trains pass by” without any interest whatsoever in engines (there used to be one of “going to see planes at the airport,” pre 9-11); retired train-company men usually live in train-company-built flats close to train stations and go watch the trains and these do know about engines… but the idea of someone who doesn’t want to work for Renfe and/or worked for it going to see which engine pulls which train is a novelty. 99% of the time you get the same engine at the same time everyday, anyway. ---

[/QUOTE] I’ve been told it must be true I don’t need drugs since it’s impossible to watch The Wall without being on drugs, but I’ve done it; I’ve also been informed that it’s impossible to skydive sober (I’m sure the instructor who carried me would disagree). And we’ve had instances of kicking someone from the WoW guildruns because since they only play when high or drunk, the only time they can hit Cuba from Havana is right before saying “gonna get nother beer, brb”. ---

[/QUOTE] I got to live that story from the inside (I’m married to a prominent scrapbooker). It was amazingly ridiculous. It was as if a group of grown women were sent back in time to relive their high school years, except this time their slam books were published on the internet. There were cries that the contest was fixed, subscriptions were cancelled with angry letters to the editor, people were calling their attorneys general, and everyone was acting as if the results of a scrapbooking contest actually mattered. Now they’re all upset that Kristina Contes (the subject of the linked article) has gotten the best of them by getting these one-sided stories published, making herself look like a victim and the rest of them look crazy.
