I wouldn’t give them an ingredient, I’d limit their ingredients to only be things that I am not allergic to. That would mean no dairy products, no eggs, no peanuts, no almonds, no chicken, and no shellfish. But if they did this then I’d have to be a judge. It just annoys me that I’m never able to eat any of their creations (not as though I would ever attempt to make them-they seem complicated).

That’s easy to prepare. Slice it, fry it, and eat it. I love scapple.

I’d see what they could do with chittlins.

NO ONE can make it appetizing.

Seriously sugesting here: chives. Several kinds of wild onions. Maybe something quitessentially American like paw-paws and persimmons.

I like the hotdog choice. I haven’t seen the american version but in the japanese (?) version of the show they always come up with something elegant no matter what the ingredient. I’d like to see what they do with a normal Schneider’s hotdog.

And just because I love them, peaches. I know it’s not clever or original, I just want to see what some of the best chefs in the world do with peaches.

That should be _Soirento Guriin._

My suggestions:

Natto.
Smelt.
Eelpout.
Lembas. (yah, I know…)
Lard.
Velveeta.
Canadian bacon.

Just…something that they’ve never heard of before, or that doesn’t fit into their chosen cuisine. One of my favorite moments from the Japanese show was the overtime battle with Chen Kenichi, and the ingredient was foie gras. Chen had this, “what the hell am I supposed to do with _this_ stuff?” look on his face.
