I like Bing. I hate how Google moves from the home page to the initial results page after I start typing. I like my windows to stay in one place until I click something. I find Bing to be slightly inferior to Google, but only on about 1% of my searches. Plus, I like the pretty pictures. ---

In a sense I use Google every day, as Chrome is my browser for everything but the Dope and typing in the Chrome address bar is enabling a Google search. That said, Iā€™m just as likely to use DuckDuckGo these days. ---

When Bing came out, the fella tried a side by side comparison. He picked a random thing (I forget what) and searched each. A couple of times. (Different topics) According to him, Google blew Bing out of the water. Heā€™s much more analytical than I, and I trust his opinion. ---

So I just tried it again, ā€œpick module optimizationā€ and then ā€œorder fulfillment optimizationā€ - nothing that it recognized, whereas google brings up various articles/papers about it. What kinds of topics do you have success with? ---

Bing (the default search engine on some work computers) is a pile of crap. Sometimes I use it to search for ā€œGoogleā€, which probably fries its mini-brain. ---

I got population and a map of city boundaries and nothing else. Did the same with google and got the same map and wiki has a bunch of information, and a bunch of other links. Conclusion: wolframalpha still sucks Edit: I noticed screen said something like ā€œcomputation timed outā€ so I just tried it again It came back with more info this time, but just stats on crime, income etc. Nice, but hardly a competitor to google Also, the fact that it timed out the first time is in the ā€œsucksā€ category ---

In 1994, I started with webcrawler. Then it was Lycos. Then it was Alta Vista. Then Google. I used bing earlier today on my iPad. I was trying to google something, but google kept timing out on me! It was annoyingā€¦ ---
