I would have to say fantasy since you can make up whatever you want in your mind. Porn has specific action, and sometimes even a script, and you can’t control what does or doesn’t happen. Plus you can involve yourself in fantasy… not so much in porn.

Honestly, porn. My imagination is too flighty to stay on one fantasy long enough to get off, while porn, of any type - video, still pictures or written - keeps me focused.

Porn. While it’s still basically fake, at least it’s more real than pure imagination. Plus, there’s still some external stimulation, even if only of the visual/auditory type.

I have to say, I envy those who can come up with a fantasy and entertain themselves. I \*have \*been able to come up with a fantasy scenario to play with the woman I’m having sex with, but not when I’m the only audience.

Just to take up the challenge in the OP:
Real sex that you can look forward to. I can honestly say that even when I put on some porn, my mind will “wonder off” and think about real sex i’ve had/will have.
Then again, nowadays my past and future sex life is not nearly as pedestrian as it used to be.

The two are pretty equal to me, but combining them in the form of a book or story is much more effective if you have the time.

Agreed. I have found a vanishingly small amount of visual porn that is anywhere near as arousing (to me, anyway) as the stuff I’ve come up with in my own mind and turned into a written story.

Porn is someone else’s fantasy.
Correction: porn is someone else’s fantasy that some Mercedes driving sh-t head looking for TPS reports cluster-f-cked into the cheapest possible budget with whatever drugs were on hand.
Fantasy is only bad if you’ve just had a nightmare, or if you have a REALLY short attention span, or if you are as [del]dense[/del] creative as solid rock.

If my mind wanders to sex thoughts, then great. Trying to make it do that on purpose is an exercise in futility. Porn is great, but limited in appeal. Sometimes it’s me arousing searching for the right video. Written erotica is what gets blood flowing most reliably.
None of this compares to actually touching my wife, of course.
