Yesterday, while watching Kids in the Hall reruns (bless you, Comedy Central!), Mr. Singular and I were trying to figure out the persuasion of each kid. When they first appeared on American TV, they were touted as the first gay comedy troupe, but I thought I had heard Dave Foley talking about a girlfriend in an interview. Obviously Scott Thompson is gay - the prison monologue yesterday was one of his best., But what about the others? Anybody have any info or speculations? ---

Just Scott. Believe it or not, the rest are all straight (even though Dave does seem to get type cast in every movie he’s in lately). ---

But Dave does look the best as a woman. ---

Yes, it’s just Scott. Or at least, Scott is the only one who is openly gay and rides that fact to boost his career. Can you imagine him being successful were he not gay? ---

I like Kids in the Hall, and I find it funny that my most recent boss looks just like Scott Thompson (and although he has not admittited to being gay, I would find it hard to believe that he’s not.) ---

Aw, hey, I love Scott. He’s my favorite one. I guess it’s the whole totally unattainable thing. And personally I like his female impersonations the best. But Bruce McCoullough’s little kid impersonations are the best, IMHO. “Did you hear about the guy…who invented Super-Glue…” ---

Ever since I made that connection, I can never watch _Blue Velvet_ without expecting her to say “I was just thinking about Tony. Mark alwasy struck me as kinda fruity… They allude to it in some of the “Unscripted Lives” sketches but you never know. ---

Years ago when their show was still running on HBO I read a bio about them and it said that along with Thompson being gay one other member was bi, maybe. It seems Bruce McCulloch is the only other one who’s never been married…
