# Which movie more historically accurate

My fella was watching Tombstone with Kurt Russell today, and he was wondering which was more historically accurate, Tombstone or Wyatt Earp with Kevin Costner?

I said the Straight Dopers would know. Any thoughts? Any Old Westophile want to expound some wisdom?

Well, they both have their… ahem… problems but “Tombstone” was the better movie, IMHO.

You’re no daisy.  
I remember reading that Tombstone was the more historically accurate of the two, but I can’t really find anything to back that up. [This](http://us.imdb.com/Reviews/23/2320) guy says overall the accuracy was okay, but doesn’t specifically compare it to Wyatt Earp. [This](http://www.caravanwest.com/article.html) article says that at least the guns were accurate, whatever that’s worth (although the guy also played a part in the movie, so he may not be what you call impartial). [These guys](http://cp1237.com/frankandtom/review.htm) seem to think Tombstone was better, for what it’s worth.

Tombstone has Such Memorable lines as “I’m your huckleberry.” (which just did wonders for that mornon Huckleberry hound) Where as “Wyatt Earp” has Kevin Costner 5 years past his ability to make a watchable moive.

Now ask yourself, Even if Wyatt is the more accurate moive, would it be worth the brain trama to watch it? :rolleyes:
