Since any of the “OMG the world’s going to hell because of TubaDiva” threads is as good as any, I choose this one to suggest that people shut the fuck up about it already. For fuck’s sake. Yes, it’s a horrible injustice. Yes, TubaDiva is the devil and the SDMB is completely unworthy of your trust. So go away and shut up. ---

So Ed Zotti/Cecil has responded [here](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showpost.php?p=5967763&postcount=675) and confirmed the original assertion. In the business world people “violate policy” every goddamn day without being fired. If you fired everyone who, in the heat of the moment, violated some policy, you’d be turning over your staff every couple of months. Every two weeks with your sales force. A manager, a GOOD manager, will look at the extent of the violation, the potential consequences, the potential for recurrence, and the value of the worker, and _decide_ on a course of action. That is exactly what happened here, and I have no doubt that if Tuba did something like this again, she’d be out on her ass.
