Well, if I can only pick one, it’s gotta be _X-Men: Days of Future Past_. I’ve enjoyed all of the earlier ones to varying extents, and the trailer looks very cool. But I expect I’ll probably also see _The Amazing Spiderman 2, Godzilla, Edge of Tomorrow, How to Train Your Dragon 2_ (the first was great), and _Dawn of the Planet of the Apes_ (haven’t seen the first, though). \*Jupiter Ascending \*just looks stupid, although if the reviews are glowing, I might go. ---

I will most likely go see Maleficent and HTTYD2. I have a friend who is way into X-Men so I’ll probably see Days of Future Past as well, but on my own, I wouldn’t see it. ---

It’s a monster that was good for maybe two movies, tops, back in the 1950s, then should have been retired for good. ---

I’d hope to see more than two films over summer but from this lst, probably only Godzilla and Jupiter Ascending. ---

I saw several interesting previews last time I went to the movies. None of these, however, appeal to me. Most of these I have not yet heard of, but titles with words like “spiderman” or “transformers” won’t get me to the cinema. ---

I was going to say that it’s a shame we can only pick one, but then I read the list. Is that really the cream of the crop for this summer? Yikes. I sure hope not. ---

Of course, there are lots of other, non-“genre” movies coming out, but I thought it wasn’t fair to compare different kinds of movies. These are just the usual summer blockbuster (or not) type of SF and fantasy movies. I could start a poll of every single title to be released between, I dunno, May 2nd and Labor Day, but _gosh_ that’s a lot of typing… 😉 ---

_X-Men: Days of Future Past_ is based on the X-Men storyline that started me reading Marvel Comics again after a long hiatus, so I’m interested in seeing how well it’s adapted to the screen. I’ll probably see _Guardians of the Galaxy_, though I know very little about the comic it’s based on. I wasn’t thrilled with the first _Amazing Spider-Man_, so the sequel isn’t calling to me. Never heard of _Earth to Echo_, _Jupiter Rising_, _Into the Storm_, or _Edge of Tomorrow_ until just now, so I’ll have to do some research. None of the others interest me at all. ---

X-men because it is from one of the few storylines I still remember more than 25 years after I last bought a comic book. ---

In theaters, _X-Men DoFP_ and _Guardians of the Galaxy_, the latter mostly just so I won’t be lost when the next MCU movie comes out. The missus may talk me into seeing _Godzilla_; she seems taken with the ads so far. I’ll eventually see a few of the others on DVD. ---

_The Amazing Spider-Man 2_ (May 2nd) - the 1st movie was complete and total shit. You couldn’t pay me to see this. _Godzilla_ (May 16th) - very low expectations (big budget be damned, it’s still Godzilla), but I’ll probably go see it anyways. It’s Godzilla! _X-Men: Days of Future Past_ (May 23rd) - the X-Men series peaked with _X2_ and has been declining ever since (no, I didn’t care for _First Class_). I’ll probably get talked into seeing it anyway. _Maleficent_ (May 30th) - I know nothing about this. _Edge of Tomorrow_ (June 6th) - I know nothing about this. _How to Train Your Dragon 2_ (June 13th) - I’ll watch it when it comes on cable. _Transformers: Age of Extinction_ (June 27th) - the other movies were complete and total shit. You couldn’t pay me to see this. _Earth to Echo_ (July 4th) - I know nothing about this. _Dawn of the Planet of the Apes_ (July 18th) - wait for cable. _Jupiter Ascending_ (July 25th) - I know nothing about this. _Hercules_ (July 25th) - wait for cable. _Guardians of the Galaxy_ (August 1st) - maybe. _Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles_ (August 8th) - wait for cable. _Into the Storm_ (August 8th) - I know nothing about this. _The Giver_ (August 15th) - I know nothing about this. _Sin City: A Dame to Kill For_ (August 22nd) - I liked the ideas in the first one, but frankly it was kinda boring. I’ll probably wait for cable. ---

Guardians of the Galaxy is the only one I’m sure I’ll see. Godzilla and Maleficent I’ll probably see, as the person I most often see movies with is excited about both of them. The Giver I might see, but I’ll wait to see how the reviews go: It’s a great book, but I’m skeptical over how well it’ll translate to the screen. ---
