Which of these would you live in if you wanted to live by the sea - France, Italy or Spain?

Spain. But only because it’s geography, climate, and much of its culture, is the closest I’ve ever found to my native Southern California.

France would get my vote.

Good choice! Though I believe the culture went historically from our side to yours, not the other way around. But if you count geology as part of geography, the list of mayor fault zones you can muster, from the San Andreas Fault downwards, puts anything we have over here to shame.

Your ham is better than ours, too.

Oh, yes, arguably the best ham in the world. Let’s hope it stays that way. I read China is copying the technology for curing hams, only that it works even better in Tibet. The air is drier and colder than in the highest Sierras over here. Rumor has it they bought some ibérico pigs and are now cloning them at an industrial scale! I hope this does not break our producers, would be a shame if we had to import ibérico ham from China.
