Inquiring minds want to know. If you only had these four to chose from, which would you say is the best dessert? I know, I know…you may think another thing not listed here is better than them all and is really the best dessert of all time, but just of these four things, which would you say? ---

Of the four listed, the cheesecake would be my choice. ---

Cheesecake. Followed by chocolate cake, apple pie. I wouldn’t touch the peach cobbler if it was in front of me and covered by the other three options. ---

Cheesecake is the likeliest to be delicious. If the apple pie is warm with a good crust then it probably wins-- and if it’s topped with vamila ice cream it laps the field. ---

Agreed. Cheesecake is the safe bet. Chocolate cake is the least likely it be great but probably won’t be bad. Apple pie can be the worst of the bunch but could also be almost as good as cheesecake. Cobbler has the potential to be the absolute best and won’t be worse than meh. I’d rank them cheesecake, cobbler, Apple pie, cake. For potential upside and downside of all. ---

I would have said cheesecake, but then I might find out that I was deciding what the only dessert was that I could have for the rest of my life, because things like that happen on the Dope. So I picked apple pie because I don’t like peaches. If apple cobbler was on the list that would be my choice hands down. But if I had to choose a dessert just for tonight, or put together a menu for a single occasion I’d go with cheesecake. But I could not eat cheesecake for dessert every night for the rest of my life, and I could do that with apple pie or cobbler. ---

Cheesecake is one of the few desserts I actually would go out of my way for. I LOVE cheesecake. ---

Cheesecake would be my third choice there. Cobbler (and even better, some type of berry), then chocolate cake, then cheesecake, then apple pie. ---

A good Peach cobbler beats them all, but the trick is finding a good one. ---

I rarely order desserts, but cheesecake would be my choice. Not crazy about apple pie (maybe with cheddar cheese? My Inner Mertz coming out). Chocolate cake doesn’t excite me. If the cobbler were made with fresh ripe local peaches and served warm out of the oven with a scoop of French Vanilla ice cream, it would take second place to cheesecake. ---

It depends on the meal. If it’s a special occasion, and you’re out at a fancy restaurant, you have the cheesecake. If it’s a big family reunion kind of thing in late summer or fall, then it’s got to be apple pie (in early summer you go with strawberry shortcake). If you’re in Georgia, peach cobbler. Birthday party, chocolate cake. I really shouldn’t have to explain things like this. Are there no standards anymore?
