Which pain reliever for which pain?

And just to add my $0.02:

If any of you for’ners didn’t know what folk were talk’n 'bout, Tylenol/acetaminophen is sold as Paralen or Paracetamol outside of the US/Canada/???..

And I am of the opinion that the large glass of water in “Take two with a large glass of water.” does as much, if not more, to cure headaches than the drug itself. Headaches are a symptom of dehydration, AFAIK. If I have a headache I’ve found that slamming a few glasses of water (sometimes with a sprinkle of salt) works better and faster than 2 pills.

Oh, and when you are sick, don’t take one of those cold drinks AND a few Tylenol…They are mostly acetaminophen, which sucks because they are expensive. In fact, I just blew hard cash on a flu/cold drink that was acet. and that phenagobbledygook drug that I’ve heard causes strokes (PPA? Anyone? Bueller?). Great! Now I have a shitty cold and packets of crap I won’t drink, and they were expensive. Yes, I know, read the ingrediants, but I was tired, sick, and just wanted some relief!

Smack, and plenty of it!

Thanks for all the information, everyone!

Re Tylenol, I remember hearing that one should be esp. careful when giving it to babies and small children. The recommended dose is very small, and exceeding it is dangerous.
