Which side is your car's fuel door compared to the exhaust?

Subaru Outback '96, Fuel cap and exhaust on right side (driver side for NZ).

I know only of those on the same sides.

And central fuel doors. I’ve owned two cars with them ('79 Chevy Impala, '84 Olds Delta 88 Royale) and they’re both still on the road with their current owners.
