I always liked Spiderman. He has all those neat spider-like abilities and the smart-alecky comebacks and insults…but best of all the guy always seems to come out on top, no matter the odds. Always thought Dr. Strange was pretty cool too. Personally, I’ve always had trouble with this particular question. Sure, many of the heroes sound neat and have awesome abilities, but who wants the responsibility of keeping the world safe? I sure don’t. I prefer the villians. They get to build not-so-secret lairs/labs and come up with foolproof plots for world domination. Plus, during the climactic battles with the heroes, they don’t have to worry about property damage or innocent civilians. Either Dr. Doom or Thanos would be my choice, however, if I could select of any villian I’ve ever seen, I’d choose the villianous character I created for the Marvel Super Heroes RPG universe, Carnivore. He had 2 forms, a vampire-like hellion and an large 4 armed devil complete with combat tail and all kinds of ways to destroy, as well as super strength and flight. Even though he had all kinds of cool powers and abilities, he had a knack for attracting some of the strangest and coolest sidekicks, and that reason alone would lead me to choose him. ---

I can’t believe no one said the Flash. So I’ll say it. There just ain’t enough time in a day to do half the things I want to do. If I’m the Flash, I can do it all. On top of that, the Flash had a zillion tricks he could do with his speed. He could go through walls, make himself invisible, travel through time, travel to other dimensions, cause tornadoes and earthquakes… ---

The problem with becoming a superhero is that you would have to also become whomever the hero was when he/she wasn’t out fighting crime. In other words, you couldn’t become Superman without also becoming Clark Kent. This eliminates most superheroes because I would still want to be me, just with some extra abilities at my command. Being a Green Lantern would be one solution, but there is the problem of the obligations to the Guardians of Oa. Too much responsibility. That said, I would have to pick Captain Marvel. Say a magic word, get some extra muscles, the ability to fly, wisdom, etc., but still get to be me. ---

I’m with elanocooper. I’ve always liked Batman because he’s just a smart guy with really cool gadgets. How hard is it to be a superhero if you are invulnerable and have unlimited strength? And as Batman himself says…“Chicks dig the car” ---

Can change into any form of energy, travel at the speed of light, etc. DC: I’ve always been partial to Supes. Flight, super strength, practical invaunerability. I’m gonna go with MrC here. I wanna be the Tick, only… smarter and less blue. I like the invulnerability and crazy strength. Also, look at the superheroes he has with him! He’s always the top man! ---

Charles Xavier gets killed in the past, enabling Apocolypse to have control in the present, yadda yadda yadda, but the relevant information is that Rogue found a method of controlling her absorption powers. ---

No, despite the subject, I wouldn’t be Thor. The whole “Captain Marvel/Shazam” thing would be cool. You could be an average nobody. If somebody really ticks you off you cry out “Shazam!”, hand them their spinal column, say it again, and move on with the day. Batman would be cool, just for his abilities, his intellect…ah, he just kicked butt in Dark Knight Returns, lets face it… Green Lantern, definitely. The Kyle Rayner version. No ring impurities (Alan Scott - wood, Hal Jordan - yellow) and I have no girl friend to be chopped up and thrown into a freezer. Best of all, Kyle showed readers everywhere his ability to create sentient life. (Circle of Fire) But sigh…I am not a superhero…(or am I???) _snooty butler enters_ “Sir, I’ve finished getting the gravy out of the Pollo-Mobile’s passenger seat.” ---

I’d go with **the Maxx** I really am that confused some days. 'specially Monday mornings. Nightcrawler. A idealistic, fun-loving fellow who can teleport miles in any direction, turn invisible in shadows, and perform insane acrobatic feats with his perfect spatial awareness. Sure, he’s strange-looking with all the blue fur, ears, three fingers and tail, but he’s successful with the ladies. Plus he’s swashbuckling, something I’ve always wanted to be, and he can hold three swords at once with the tail. And he has faith, which I’d like to have but don’t. ---

**Duplicator Lad** , I think his name was. Something like that. He appeared in two episodes of **The Legion of Super Heros** in DC comics in the 1960s, and I don’t think he ever came back. He wasn’t a member, btw. His super-power was the ability to copy any body else’s super power. So If you were him, you could also be any other superhero. Youy could be Superboy, until someone came by with kryptonite, then you could be Mon-el, or J’onn Jo’nz, or Ultraboy. You could be super-stretchy like Mr. Fantastic or Elastic Lad or Plastic Man. You could turn invisible. Anything you can do, you can do better! More powerful than Super-Skrull! ---

He was somehow able to use his magnetism to shield himself from Rogue’s absorbing powers, but she still wasn’t able to touch anyone else. And just so everyone knows what a geek I am, I actually hunted through my back issues to look this up (it was in _X-Men: Alpha_). 😃 That being said, I think I’d like to be Rogue from X-Men: Evolution. I love her on that show! I also wouldn’t mind being Jubilee – she’s always been one of my favorite characters. Of course if I were M, I’d be rich, beautiful, intelligent, super strong and be able to fly. I guess I need to give this some more thought. 🙂 ---

I think it would be cool to be Iron Man, albeit without Tony Stark’s heart problems. (It’s been years since I’ve read the comic–does he still have problems with the ticker and the booze?) Batman and Wolverine are two other great choices. But above all, I would want to be: REID FLEMING, WORLD’S TOUGHEST MILKMAN!!! (And so do you!)
