The Blackadder Christmas special, especially the part where they are in the future … hilarious. The part where Baldrick tries to describe fire because he can’t remember the word “fire” was also hilarious. SCTV (Second City Television’s) Lola Falana Vegas Christmas special. Never has Christmas been so completely not understood! The Guild (a web TV series) ep where Will Wheaton’s character gets beaten senseless (off camera) at Cheesybeard’s by a waitress he seduced and abandoned. ---

HIMYM. Robin is convinced by Barney that she needs to bring a naughty gag gift to Lily’s bachelorette party. She arrives to discover Lily has invited not her other girlfriends, but family and coworkers. Robin tries to leave or get rid of the present but cannot. In desperation she switches the tag from her gift with another wrapped similarly. The grandmother gives Lily the gift thinking it is her own gift (a sewing kit or something handy) but before letting her open it, starts talking about how it has been passed down for generations of women in her family, and how much joy they’ve gotten out of using it. And then Lily opens the box… I also have to admit the first chicken fight sequence on Family Guy had me in stitches. ---

I definitely was brought to tears by some of the others mentioned. But I’ve thought of a few that haven’t come up yet. From _Soap_: Bert is at his secretary’s place, drunk. Somehow, he’s ended up standing on the coffee table. His unsteady attempts to step down were hilarious. Chuck and Bob try out their mindreading act on the family. Remember, Bob is Chuck’s ventriloquist dummy, which he thinks is real and he insists everyone else treat Bob that way. Bob is blindfolded, doing mindreader tricks. Danny is amazed. Jody tries to explain to his brother why this isn’t amazing, but gets nowhere. From Family Ties: Jennifer would like her mother to teach her to drive, but Dad insists it be him. First lesson is done by pretending, sitting in the kitchen chairs. The family panomimes the whole trip, in which Jen drives like a maniac. There’s a M_A_S\*H episode where Margaret disappears (she’s off helping a Korean woman deliver a baby) and everybody goes nuts looking for her. Aside from the birth scenes, every line in that episode is played for laughs. Then Colonel Flagg shows up, and the funny goes up to 11. Fawlty Towers again, but the one that had me falling out of the chair was the one where a guest dies overnight - it’s way funnier than that sounds. ---
