The Elephant has landed, repeat, the Elephant has landed. I was going to make everyone wait until tonight to open it but I just couldn’t do it. Here’s what we found inside . . . 2 Entertainment mags, one has already been confiscated by my 5 year old daughter, Harry Potter is on the cover and she’s completely in love. container of ground cinnamon, I use a lot of cinnamon this time of year lock blade knife with falshlight, Mr. Chuks says “thank you” Set of 4 coffee mugs with owls on them Set of 2 dessert cups, very pretty and they look old, are they? small floral vase, daughter also took this set of 3 wonderful smelling candles photo album several paperbacks chocolate mousse mix, yummy! picture frame jewel shapes ice cube tray altoid gum toothbrush covers tiny bowling pin small green vase the bubble wrap has been a big hit with the kids and the dog French Cooking in Ten Minutes book Oh, I even got porn! “How to Make Love to a Man” book. I’m just wondering if it’s a 10 minute “how to” like the french cook book. It’s definitely not a long book. Thanks Emily Litella!! We like your junk. ---

I got my elephant today and I believe it was from nd\_n8. I knew I would like it when the first thing I saw was a dragon. I love the glass tomato and pepper and the small duck decoy, too. The dragon and duck are already on my bookcase, the glass items are safely tucked into a cabinet to protect them from cats until I find some place safe to display them. It was a very smelly box thanks to some body spray and some perfume oils. There’s several CD’s including Journey’s Greatest Hits, Dr. Hook and Nickelback and some people I’ve never heard of. Now I can put some Journey songs on my MP3 player! There’s a Chicken Soup for Couples Book and a Dr. Phil book with something truly frightening smooshed in the back cover, I am afraid to ask what it might be. There’s a CD for Microsoft Money 2003 and an HP printer cartridge. There’s a deck of cards, some sort of gauge thingy, a keychain flashlight that looks like a bullet, a bag of feathers, a couple metal Camel cigarette boxes, a user manual for a Lite Pro projector, a pair of sunglasses, a pair of goggles that say “Hell riders”, hair remover, a couple thongs (not my size), something that says Benzomatic, a broken watch, shimmer powder, a leather project, some pencils and a cool metal thingy with a peacock cutout. Plus a really nice organizer with a matching notebook. Overall a really cool elephant but a bit aromatic. Not that I didn’t enjoy it but is it bad form to put a couple of my new arrivals in my box to send out or are we required to hold onto our elephants for a while? I couldn’t find everything I wanted to put in my box and wanted to pad it out just a little more and I think I could pass on a couple of these interesting things to some other deserving soul. Not the dragon or the duck though, mine! mine! mine! ---

I just opened mine from **BiblioCat** today and I loved it, especially the gift box and the plastic lizards. I have all my stuff packed up and ready to go to the post office tomorrow. Sorry it’s so late! ---

The strange metal thingy is a hand warmer, my dad gave it to me about a hundred years ago for hunting but I’ve never used it. I had to get rid of the Dr. Hook before the wife started beating me with it ::starts singing Sylvia’s Mother - ducks:: so I threw some other stuff in there to balance it out. I’m very glad the glass stuff didn’t break. I don’t know if re-gifting is good form or not but as far as I’m concerned it’s all your stuff now to do what you wish, if you need to fill out a box then go for it. Except for the dragon, must enjoy the dragon. I’m really glad you liked it. ---

Well I do hate the idea of re-gifting immediately after receiving, I was really only thinking of sending on a couple things, like the two garment items not in my size I would hate to see them go to waste. 😃 ---

I should have mine mailed by Friday, sorry for the delay recipient but I packed away all my junk too well and couldn’t get to everything I had wanted to send. I had wanted to make a handmade item to include but just didn’t have the time but it got me wondering if we’ve ever done a craft exchange where we send something handmade to another doper? I am not volunteering to organize this because I’m just not good at that sort of thing. ---

I don’t know if there has ever been a craft exchange, but I sent a scarf that I knit several years ago in my WE. A craft exchange sounds cool though… :: ponders :: ---

I’m starting to get worried … I sent my Elephant last Monday via Priority Mail. At absolute max, it was going to travel 450 miles. And yet, no mention from my recipient. ☹ I even double-checked the address with the USPS website to make sure it was formatted correctly - it was an odd combination of Lane, North and SW, plus an apartment number. ---

Wile\_E, to be quite honest there were things that didn’t get into my box as well. One of the key pieces I was going to send was going to be a camera with about 5 pictures left on it and the other 22 unknown “mystery” pictures but I didn’t get all of my mystery pictures taken in time and decided to hang on to the camera a little while longer anyway. Oh, and as to the apparel in my box, my wife wanted me to let you know that it was her idea and not mine. She bought said items for oldest daughter who didn’t like them. She didn’t want you to get the idea that I’m some sort of sicko or something. ---

Got mine today from The Cecil Adams Appreciation Society aka \*\*jayjay \*\*and **supervenusfreak**. I’ve had it a few hours but it’s taken a back seat to my new iPhone. I’m opening it now and will document as I go: It’s taped up very well. OK, I’m in… 2 closet shoe organizers with strawberries and flowers. Will go in my closet as soon as I get done. 2 thin metal cut-out of well dressed ladies a Thighmaster…heh small straw hat with flowers on it (decorative) a basket that looks like you hang on the wall address book the Star Wars Trilogy (original) on VHS a fizzy bath ball - which will get used after my workout later 🙂 Neat stuff, thanks guys! ---

I just got back in town and mine was waiting for me. Treasures galore! Woo Hoo [sup]Rummaging through the box, I see…[/sup] A ball of twine Books, books, books - one, an art forgery guide, should come in handy for myself. A ball of twine A ‘Washington’ patch which will go on my geocaching back-pack (yeah, it’s a cheat but whaddeva) A sparkplug - you can never have too many! A ball of twine (are you keeping count?) A geode which I will save to explore A very nifty acrylic model of the ‘Trinity Christian City International’ building (Really? You could part with that???) A ball of twine A Rodeo chip - really. A ball of twine A ball of twine An assortment of Bible verses on individual cards. My co-workers will be SO happy… Another ball of twine And the coolest lamp. A sad note here, the lamp did not make it in one piece. I say that seriously, I liked it and would have used it… in fact, I’m going to try to glue it together. I think an unfortunate positioning of the geode did it in. A ball of twine And the real treasure of the group - a Hitler stamp! “Deutsches Reich”. Nice! So thanks, that was fun. On to other matters, While I was gone I left strict instruction on what I needed sent out for me. Imagine my horror to discover upon returning that I still had loads of crap, er… I mean treasure that did not go out as it should have. So, to the proud owners of a new plush duck and some very crescent fresh shower valves handles - I’m not done with you yet! ---

I have not yet sent my elephant. It is stomping around my house, slowly getting filled up. It will be going out Wednesday (payday). My most sincere aplogies to my elephantee, who lives in Shawnee, KS. Also, I have no yet received my elephant (which doesn’t bother me, as I assume it’s karma for mine not going out in time).
