**Gravity** , wherever you are, your package is on the way. I forgot to identify it as a White Elephant, so when you get a big box of crap in the mail, that’s from me. I just watched the tapes **Max Carnage** sent me. One pleasant surprise was a bunch of Electric Company episodes! Woohoo! (I’d forgotten that Morgan Freeman played Easy Readers. Damn!) The other…well, I don’t think I should say what it is, but suffice it to say that George Lucas would have our heads. 😃 ---

KIZ!!! I got your wonderful package! What fun! I actually know someone who went to Brandeis, and I was just thinking about that school. How funny that you would send me a mascot! My son will love the little toy (and the seashells–he loves them so I will let him enjoy them). And the books! You sent such great books! I have another book by Heimel so I look forward to reading this one. And I also love Jonathon Kozol so I can’t wait to read THAT one. And shoot, I can’t remember the third book offhand (I’m posting from work) but as I recall it was good too. Such good stuff! What a nice White Elephant package! I haven’t set mine yet, but I can assure you my recipient will not be getting such quality stuff. ---

It’s so nice to be loved. Minding my own business and keeping my head down since I have nothing to offer this round except a pile of empty margarine tubs and… no, just the margarine tubs, I figured I’d be sitting on the sidelines, watching the parade go by. (Elephants are so beautiful…) But as Fate (and the ever-lovely **rocking chair** , Patron Saint of Wayward White Elephants) would have it, my spectating quickly became participating. (How did she get my address? She must be real smart. Columbo smart at least.) It’s billed as a “Pygmy Elephant”, but since it’s roughly 28 pounds, a full-blown Elephant would be down-right scary. Ya wanna know what I got? I got loot, man. LOOT! **Fabric Swatches** Real pretty fabric swatches! **Rock Swatches** But since color and markings of natural stone will vary, I won’t be making a final selection until I see a larger field. **Book Marks** The Garfield ones are great, but what will I do with Star Wars? **Pencils** _Harry Potter_pencils. Oooo… **Stickers** _Flag_stickers. Oooo… **A Current Calander** Hmmm… Brayton will be closed on Monday, September the 2nd. (?) **A Squirrel** I’m hoping the head will fluff back up **Soup Bowls** _Two_soup bowls. One for each boy. Convenient that. **A Book** _The Practical Encyclopedia of Feng Shui_. My Feng will be Shuing now, baby! **A Coat Hangy Thing** Unfortunately, this did not arrive unscathed. (_argh!_ & _gack!_) **Jewelry** A necklace and a ring and some pins. (How did you know I like geckos?) Plus a watch with no numbers. **A Leetle Alan wrench** Noooo! The hex of Hex wrenches returns! And there’s an Official **rocking chair** note. No Big Letters in there, nope. All hail **rocking chair**! Long may her tiarra sparkle and long may her scepter wave! (Yer the BEST EVER!) -Rue. ---

oh no!!! the fish was scathed?!?! i was thinking of katcha when i threw that in. i hope it can be revived. that squirrel… i don’t think it will ever be the same. the rocks make good coasters. i was hoping you weren’t totally devious, and didn’t use your neighbour’s return address. the watch… there is a story behind that. look very closely at the picture… there is another box out there … could it be heading to a hill near you billy? ---

I had a feeling you’d like both the Kozol and Heimel books (and sheesh, I can’t remember the title of the other one either :eek:), plus, as I said in the note, I didn’t want Cranky Jr. to feel left out upon seeing his mom with all the goodies…😉 I don’t remember where the Brandeis mascot came from, but figuring that you would know who/what Brandeis was/is…I sent the shells because you’re landlocked out there! Actually, there was another book I wanted to initially send that’s about book groups…when I find it, I’ll send it to ya! But anyway, I’m so thrilled you liked it! WOOT!!! 😃 ---

A box of stuff appeared on my doorstep - actually, I tripped over it. It was from someone I didn’t know, so I knew my elephant had arrived - after all, it wasn’t ticking. Ripped it open greedily. I schlopped to get the mail, expecting to get a small package of something from eBay. I was surprised when the box was _heavy_. “What the hell?” I said, puzzled, and earning a look from the woman behind the counter at the MBE. “These aren’t shorts… I don’t know anyone named… OH YEAH!!” I had forgotten completely about _getting_ an elephant, even though I had packed up my own to mailed today. :eek: Oh my gosh! right on top were a _bunch_ of Star Wars comic books…but that was just the top layer. Treasure after treasure! …and I didn’t own a _single one_ of the comics… but they _all_ look really good!
