I am a property and casualty agent (I’m licensed in CA, TX, FL and NY), but the largest portion of my work history, including most of my insurance experience, is customer service. Basically this company has just started about 2 years ago and they know everything about insurance but NOTHING about customer service. They are hiring me to start and build their customer service department essentially.

My first job out of library school was indexing insurance statutes and regulations. It would be an exaggeration after all these years to say I still see the Model Policy Provisions Law when I close my eyes, but there was a time…

The pay was abysmal but the intellectual level of office chitchat went way above anything I’ve encountered anywhere else.
