I have no idea why White Trash Beggar Scams is not under General Questions, but hey, then again I was rejected for a moderator position on this site by Cecil. I digress. Here’s another scam that happened to me in Quakertown, PA about ten years ago. I’m getting in my car in a store parking lot. This dude pulls up in a van. He asks me if I want a free pair of Pioneer speakers. Immediately my senses go PERK PERK PERK, and I decline. He acts all incredulous and drives off. This was in 1988. About the same time a guy in a van pulled up to me and asked if I wanted to buy some (really expensive) speakers for $20. I declined because I assumed they were stolen. But if there’s a “free speaker” scam, what is it? ---

Someone offered to sell me some expensive speakers for 1/2 price too. I didn’t even have that much at the time. I’m guessing that the speakers were really crappy speakers and that most people cann’t tell the difference and/or they were stolen.
