I just got back from a weekend on the Deschutes river here in Oregon. Everyone has listed some great advice. One of the most inportant is to Listen to the guide, or captain of the boat. You have to have one person in charge.
IMHO the front of the raft provides the best ride, but there aren’t any bad seats.
