They are playing ‘I Wanna Dance With Somebody’ on the radio here right now. Very sad, she really had an incredible voice. I hope she is now able to find the peace she couldn’t find in her all too short lifetime. ---

Anyway, cynicism aside, I’ll always remember her the first time I saw her, as the ethereally beautiful girl singing _I Wanna Dance With Somebody_. She was so fresh and innocent, _such_ a voice, and at the time one of the most stunning women on the planet. I’ll also fondly remember Serge Gainsbourg leching over her on that chat show. He was old and gross, but the dude had balls, he had a go. “I said I want to fuck 'er.” I guess if you’ve screwed Brigitte Bardot you think you can pull anyone. ---

Wow, as much of a train wreck as she was, it’s still shocking. I, too, remember the first time I ever saw her, on The Tonight Show, and I knew right then that she was going to be huge. Fuck Bobby Brown. ---

Never cared for her at all. Her brand of overwrought ballads sung with high pitched ear-piercing shrieks is not my idea of good music. I mean, does she have talent? Yeah, I guess she has vocal talent. But Kenny G has that kind of talent too. ---
