Under this person’s [name](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?postid=1286420#post1286420) it says “Just another Serlin” instead of “Member”. How did that happen? ---

Serlin is a banned poster who repeatedly comes back using other names. “Just another Serlin” is the admins way of letting members know in shorthand why a particular screen name has suddenly been banned without apparent reason. ---

I remember **Serlin**. I was just wondering if maybe some hacking _poster_ had done that, not a moderator. It’s more creative that just saying “BANNED”. ---

I’m usually the one who puts non-standard status lines. I get bored sometimes, or ticked off.
