I thought it would be an easy question to answer. Who (following the 13 months ? 8 month? answers vary online rule of the Sparta-backed13 Tyrants) ruled Athens during the trial of Socrates in 399 BCE? All articles I found online were preoccupied with the trial, charges and death of Socrates but failed to mention who the Archons were (if they were even called Archons in 399 BCE. ) ---

Wikipedia has a continuous list of [Eponymous Archons of Athens](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eponymous_archon#Classical_period). It has an Aristocrates as Archon in 399 BC. ---
