So if you got a gift for Father’s Day, what did you get? This year in the Dragwyr household, nothing says, “We love you, Dad.” better than a Brita water purifier for my faucet. So what did you get? ---

I got my dad a book on Hawaii–where we’re planning to vacation next summer. I don’t know _what_ I would have done without that idea… I wouldn’t know what to buy him if it didn’t have to do with golf or… that’s about it. :smack: ---

My dad bought himself a tie (and a new dress shirt). 😛 My sister and I chipped in and got him a basket of goodies that my mom wouldn’t normally keep around the house. It’s pretty difficult to get anything else for him. ---

We got dad a nice collared shirt, some socks, and a tin of See’s Toffee Rolls. Which reminds me, I need to go and eat some of those Toffee Rolls. 😃 ---

Geez, reading the above, I REALLY feel like I lucked out! I got all three of the “Legacy” Universal monster DVDs (Dracula, Frankenstein, Wolfman), packed with mini-busts of all three lead monsters. My wife and kids rock! ---

I was to get a nice Magellian GPS, but I’m getting a new car instead. I didn’t get my father anything, except the pleasure of hearing his grandson saying “Bye-bye.” His reply, “God, what a great kid,” indicated it was just what he wanted. I got a card from my parents and a card from my sister-in-law, which made me paranoid. I opened the mailbox, saw a card addressed to me, and recognized her hadwriting. “Why is [SIL] sending me a card?” I wondered. “My birthday was three months ago. This is wierd.” Not realizing father’s day was a couple days away, I went into panic mode. “I know she likes me, but not like that.” “Why would she send me a card?” I opened the card, and saw it was a fathers day card, and relaxed… for a monent. “Why would she send me a father’s day card? I’m not her dad?” I need to relax more. ---

Lessee, . . . I got a book, The Conquerors, about Roosevelt and Churchill’s handling of post-WWII Europe. I got a beer mug. Nice, heavy base so it won’t tip over if I put it down on carpet, nice clean lines. I like beer. 🙂 And I got a PS2 games-pack: great video games of the 70’s and 80’s. Defender – YES! Robotron – YES! Joust – YES! And some other I don’t remember seeing before. I didn’t have a beer, but I spent most of my free time yesterday playing video games with my kids. I’ll start the book just as soon as I’m done with the one I’m working on now. ---

My gift got here a few weeks ago - a Dragon’s Lair arcade system. I’m still waiting on a few key parts and the cabinet needs a little touch up but it works. =) ---

Well, seeing as how I’m still an expecting father, my First Ever Father’s Day Gifts were… Books on becoming a father. Three of them. From my wife and mother-to-be of my son. And a delicate little coffee mug with a cutesy little saying on it from my Mother In Law. One that holds just about enough cream to service the usual amount of coffee I drink in a day… (usually 72 to 96 oz.) Dammit. I wanted a Canon Rebel-E or a new Macintosh G5 or a Ford GT or something. At least Pasadena Ford _finally_ sent me the Garmin GPS-V Deluxe they promised me when I bought my new car on March 26. That was a cool toy. Oh, and I got the opportunity to take my once-finicky-and-now-ravenously-hungry pregnant wife out for dinner at a local pub so she could have their triple-chocolate-death-cake.
