Another Detroit band - Dirtbombs lead singer, Mick Collins
Ok, so I read the OP and now realize that I totally was thinking of something else. Mayhem’s Sven Kristiansen is right out.
The Dirtbombs are amazing; Mick Collins has played in a bunch of other bands as well. The Gories are my favorite of his bands. I love their blend of garage punk and classic R&B. There’s a list of his other bands in his allmusic bio, all of them are worth a listen.
