Robert Duvall
Daniel Day-Lewis

Handsome enough to be leading men yet versatile enough to be considered character actors. They both give consistently fine performances.

My husband would nominate Tommy Lee Jones.

OK, here in England, home of Nottingham and Robin Hood, it may have had anomalous success, but how often do people around you talk about using blunt spoons because they hurt more? A movie doesn’t have to be a financial success for the actor to be stellar.

I’ll further cite Die Hard.

According to the _Hollywood Reporter Book of Box Office Hits_, it was the 2nd top-grossing film of 1991.
