I was just going to mention that…also described him as a “playboy”. I’ve enjoyed many of Rooney’s on screen characters, but never saw him that way. Also don’t remember him being depicted that way… ---

JRR Tolkien met an attractive younger American woman at an Oxford U. faculty party in the late Sixties. They hit it off and were having a very nice chat. A mutual friend came over, laughing, and said, “You don’t recognize each other, do you?” It was Ava Gardner. She didn’t know him from his writings, and he didn’t know her from her movies. ---
